Sevasti

The Vacation Employment Program provided Sevasti with the opportunity to gain experience and hands-on knowledge in her chosen field while studying.

Working across multiple areas at the Department of Treasury and Finance gave Sevasti the opportunity to apply and enhance knowledge of the accounting and law concepts she was learning at university.

Sevasti experienced a variety of opportunities and skills development including:

• hands-on training in the use of accounting and other software
• working with the Legislation, Advisory and Review sector and exposure to different policies concerning taxes across different jurisdictions
• presenting a brief to the Commissioner of Territory Revenue.

Sevasti’s advice to those considering applying for the program:

“Go for it! The Vacation Program is a great opportunity to learn. You will also get to meet people who have different levels of experience.”

“This program was one of my greatest experiences, as it allowed me to be a part of a supportive team that also pushed me to go outside my comfort zone.”
