Darwin and Palmerston
Mindil Beach Sunset Market
For more than 30 years, the Mindil Beach Sunset Market has been an iconic Darwin dry-season event. Held at Mindil Beach from late April to late October on Thursday and Sunday evenings, the markets feature more than 200 stalls, with live music, arts and crafts, and a mix of local and international cuisine. Find a spot on the beach to enjoy a meal while watching one of Darwin’s spectacular dry-season sunsets.
Parap Village Markets
Established in 1982 by local shopkeepers, the Parap Village Markets are held every Saturday from 8am to 2pm. With more than 95 food and craft stalls, there’s plenty to discover. The markets are also home to Mary’s famous laksa, with locals often arriving early to grab their favourite dishes.
Rapid Creek Markets
With more than 100 stalls, Rapid Creek Markets are one of the Top End’s oldest markets, if not the oldest. Held every Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 2pm, you’ll find everything from arts and crafts to plants, chutneys, fresh produce and more.
Nightcliff Markets
Held every Sunday from 8am to 2pm year-round, the Nightcliff Markets are a favourite weekend destination. Relax in the shaded seating areas while enjoying Asian cuisine, crêpes, coffee and smoothies. You’ll also find local arts and crafts, plants and massage services.
Palmerston Markets
Located in the heart of Palmerston CBD, the Palmerston Markets run from May to October on Friday evenings. Enjoy regular live performances and kids’ activities, as well as plenty of food options, fresh fruit and vegetables, and local arts and crafts.
Outer Darwin
Berry Springs Markets
Held at Berry Springs Reserve on the last Sunday of each month from March to October, the Berry Springs Markets run from 8am to 1pm. The markets also host a special Christmas market in early December.
Fred’s Pass Rural Markets
Held every Saturday from 8am to 1pm all year round, Fred’s Pass Rural Markets offer a mix of food, plants, crafts and local produce. The venue also hosts Rural Eats NT every Wednesday evening from 4.30pm to 8.30pm, where you can enjoy market favourites alongside live music and kids’ entertainment.
Adelaide River Markets
The Adelaide River Markets run four days a week (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday) during the dry season, from Easter Saturday until Father’s Day, from 8am to 12pm. Browse homemade cakes, biscuits and preserves, as well as knick-knacks, second-hand items and locally made crafts.
Katherine
Katherine Community Markets are a vibrant dry-season event, held every Saturday from 8.30am to 12pm at the Lindsay Street Complex, behind the Katherine Visitor Information Centre.
K Town Markets – a separate community market, generally held on Sundays, with locations including the Lindsay Street Complex and Katherine Show Grounds.
With plenty of shaded areas to relax and soak up the community atmosphere, the markets are a great way to support local small businesses and discover some of Katherine’s best arts and crafts. Tennant Creek
Tennant Creek Community Markets are a great way to spend a Saturday morning, meet locals and discover handmade goods, local produce, food and community stalls. The markets bring the Tennant Creek community together and provide a space for local makers, businesses and community organisations to connect with residents and visitors.
Alice Springs
Todd Mall Markets held in the heart of Alice Springs, the Todd Mall Markets run from March to December 9am to 1pm. Now in their 20th year, the markets feature a diverse range of stalls selling local arts and crafts, clothing, food, jewellery, wellbeing products, honey, hats, mats, books and more. You’ll also find products for four-legged friends, making it a great place to browse, shop and soak up the local atmosphere.
The Night Markets on select Thursdays, 5–9pm: April–December these evenings are packed with entertainment and activities for all ages, in addition to your traditional NT market fair.
Desert Mob Marketplace is held annually in September from 10am to 2pm at the Araluen Cultural Precinct. The 2026 event will be on the 12th of September. This family friendly event features over 30 Aboriginal art stalls, delicious food trucks and interactive activities.
