Sport in the NT is vibrant, inclusive and community focused. With warm weather year-round, you can enjoy our sporting culture at any time, whether you’re cheering on local teams or participating in the action for yourself.
Get involved
We have more than 50 sporting codes and around 330 sporting venues across the Territory, some of which are world class facilities.
Whether you’re into AFL, Athletics, Netball, Soccer, Hockey, BMX, Swimming or Cricket, there’s plenty to choose from!
In addition to the traditional Australian favourites, outdoor pursuits like fishing, conservation, hunting and clay target sports are also popular.
Fun for the whole family
In the Territory we have an excellent network of local sports clubs and facilities that can cater for every sport. By joining a local club, you can connect with likeminded people.
You can browse this extensive database of sporting organisations to easily find a sporting club that's the right fit for you.
The Northern Territory Government offers children living in an urban area two $100 sports vouchers each year to participate in sport, recreation or cultural activities.
