Careers with the Department of Children and Families
The Department of Children and Families (DCF) works across the Northern Territory to support safe children, strong families and thriving communities. With more than 800 staff in over 30 locations, we deliver a wide range of services including child protection, family support, out-of-home care, carer services, domestic, family and sexual violence prevention, and homelessness support. We work closely with community organisations, Aboriginal leaders and other government agencies to deliver culturally safe and person-centred services.
Our Child Protection teams play a vital frontline role. These professionals are committed to early intervention and supporting families to create safe, stable environments for children. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside Aboriginal Community Workers, Family and Youth Support Officers, and community partners, all focused on achieving the best outcomes for children.
From your first day, you’ll be supported with structured training, 12 weeks of mentoring, and ongoing development through our Conversations, Coaching and Capability Framework. With professional growth opportunities, flexible work options, financial incentives for some roles and regions, and the chance to work in vibrant, multicultural communities, a career with DCF is as rewarding as it is meaningful.
