Work with Us
The Northern Territory Department of Education and Training is responsible for delivering high quality public education to over 34,000 students across 153 schools. Our diverse student population includes over 14,000 Aboriginal students, and 49% of all students have a language background other than English.
Territory schools span across six regions: Darwin, Top End, Big Rivers, East Arnhem, Barkly and Central. Approximately 1500 km’s lie between the Territory’s two main centres, Darwin and Alice Springs.
This gives you the option to choose where you want to teach and live, whether it be in an urban school, a regional school with a country feel or at a remote school in one of the Territories unique communities.
The smallest school in our NT has an enrolment of only 7 students and is located in the Central region, and our largest has 1200.
Given the vastly different school contexts and diversity among students and families, you’re guaranteed to have a stimulating and rewarding career, all the while making a positive and lasting difference to educational outcomes for students.
