Multicultural

The Northern Territory is one of Australia’s most culturally diverse regions. It is home to people from over 100 nationalities and around 140 social, cultural, and religious organisations.

Immigrants have contributed significantly to the NT’s economy and culture, with migrant communities regularly hosting a variety of cultural festivals and events throughout the year, including the Greek Glenti, Mindil at India, Chinese New Year, and other celebrations that showcase their heritage.

Religious freedom and mutual respect are integral to the NT’s shared culture. The Territory is home to Islamic mosques, Buddhist and Chinese temples, and a range of Christian churches.
