"A career built on opportunity and growth"
As a Housing Project Support Officer with Government Leasing Services, Cody plays an important role in supporting government housing across the Northern Territory. Through his work supporting existing housing and new developments, Cody helps ensure government employees have access to safe and reliable accommodation across the Territory.
After spending seven years in the construction industry and completing a carpentry apprenticeship, Cody was ready for a new challenge and looking for opportunities to broaden his skills. In June 2025, he joined the Aboriginal Employment Program (AEP), taking the first step into a career with the Northern Territory Public Sector.
Starting as an Administration Officer with the Remote Property Tenancy Management team within the Department of Housing, Local Government and Community Development, Cody embraced the opportunity to learn about a new industry and build valuable skills in administration and housing services.
Since then, he has progressed into a Housing Project Support Officer role with Government Leasing Services, where he supports the maintenance of existing government housing and the delivery of new housing developments across the Territory. The move has allowed him to broaden his experience, take on new responsibilities and continue developing professionally.

"My career journey shows there are many opportunities within the Northern Territory Public Sector to learn new skills, take on different challenges and build a rewarding career," he said.
Outside of work, Cody enjoys everything the Northern Territory lifestyle has to offer. Born and raised in the Territory, he values being close to family and appreciates the strong sense of community that makes the NT unique.
"The relaxed lifestyle, friendly people and cultural diversity make the Territory a great place to live," he said.
Whether it's fishing, camping, visiting national parks or spending time out on Country, Cody enjoys exploring the Territory's landscapes and making the most of the outdoor lifestyle.
His story highlights how taking a chance on a new opportunity can lead to personal growth, career progression and a rewarding career in the Northern Territory Public Sector.
