This is a 20-week paid introduction to the workplace for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers.
You will complete a Certificate II in Workplace Skills, a nationally recognised qualification, through Charles Darwin University while you work in an NT Government agency.
After successful completion of this program pathways to further employment will be supported.
Eligible participants are proudly supported by the Department of Education and Training’s user choice funding.
Who can apply
All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who:
- have access to appropriate transport and are able to attend the program in person
- have good verbal and written communication skills
- have basic computer skills
- can obtain a working with children clearance (Ochre Card) and criminal history check
- do not already hold a Certificate II in Workplace Skills.
Ideal for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who are school leavers or looking for a career change.

Your application must include:
- your resume
- 2 current referees
- (if you are under 21) your most recent school results
- any qualifications you already hold
- confirmation of Aboriginality from an appropriate community organisation (or proof of application)
- special statutory declaration.
Application stages
- Apply: Submit your application through the online form above.
- Shortlist: If your application is found to meet the eligibility criteria, it will be shortlisted for review and matched to one or more NT Government departments. More than one department may contact you.
- Reference checks: We will contact your referees.
- Interview: An interview will be scheduled if your application progresses to this stage.
- Outcome: The Early Careers team will notify you of the outcome.
