To be considered for the graduate program, you must ensure all sections of the application form are completed and submitted online with the required supporting documents.
Applications must be submitted via the Employment opportunities online website.
Shortlisting commences after applications close. Your application will be reviewed by senior executives from each agency.
If you are shortlisted for an interview, you will be contacted by phone and required to complete a pre-interview task.
Interviews are conducted in Darwin. If you are located interstate or outside the Darwin region, you will have the option to interview via video conference.
You will receive notifications and updates on the shortlisting process throughout this stage.
If you are shortlisted for an interview, you and your referees will be contacted by phone from the respective agency. You will be required to complete a research and written pre-interview task.
During the interview you will have the opportunity to:
- discuss your academic achievements
- speak to work experience
- promote your personal qualities
- ask questions about the agency and business unit rotations
- query potential employment pathways.
Post interview, we may require you to undergo security checks and declare any actual or perceived conflicts of interest. You will be given guidance through this process.
If you are successful, you will be contacted directly by the Department of Corporate and Digital Development, Early Careers Unit.
Regardless of outcome, you will be advised in writing of the outcome of the selection process.

Supporting documentation
If you are offered a graduate position, you must provide proof of qualification completion and eligibility for employment in Australia for the program's duration. This includes:
- Certified copy of your academic transcript(s).
- Certified copy of your birth certificate or passport.
- Certified copy of your visa details outlining working conditions (if applicable).
- Certification of overseas qualifications (if applicable), which can be obtained through the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
How to obtain certified copies
To certify your documents:
- Make a photocopy of the original certificate or academic transcript.
- Present both the original and photocopy to a Commissioner of Oaths, Justice of the Peace, or a university Registrar for verification.
- The official will sign and certify the photocopy as a true copy of the original.
