To be considered for the Graduate Program, you must complete all sections of the application form and submit it online with the required supporting documents.

Applications must be submitted via the Employment opportunities online website.

Shortlisting begins after applications close. Your application will be reviewed by senior executives from each agency.

Interviews are conducted in Darwin. If you are located interstate or outside the Darwin region, you will have the option to interview via video conference.

You will receive notifications and updates on the shortlisting process throughout this stage.

If you are shortlisted for an interview, you and your referees will be contacted by phone from the respective agency. You will be required to complete a research and written pre-interview task.

During the interview you will have the opportunity to:

discuss your academic achievements
discuss your work experience
demonstrate your personal qualities
ask questions about the agency and business unit rotations
explore potential employment pathways

After the interview, you may be required to undergo security checks and declare any actual or perceived conflicts of interest. We will provide guidance throughout this process.

If you are successful, you will be contacted directly by the Early Careers Unit, Department of Corporate and Digital Development.

Regardless of the outcome, you will be advised in writing of the result of the selection process.

Due to the large number of applications, the assessment and selection process may take some time.

What you need if offered the position

Supporting documentation

If you are offered a graduate position, you must provide evidence that you have completed your qualification and are eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the program. This includes:

Certified copy of your academic transcript(s).
Certified copy of your birth certificate or passport.
Certified copy of your visa details outlining working conditions (if applicable).
Certification of overseas qualifications (if applicable), which can be obtained through the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

How to obtain certified copies

To certify your documents:

Make a photocopy of the original certificate or academic transcript.
Present both the original and photocopy to a Commissioner of Oaths, Justice of the Peace, or a university Registrar for verification.
The authorised person will sign and certify the photocopy as a true copy of the original.
