Tips from Territorians
Knowing what to pack or purchase for our great Territory lifestyle might surprise you. We’ve created a list of items recommended by Territorians for new Territorians.
The dry season can be cool in Darwin and call for a light sweater or jacket, while Alice Springs can get down to sub-zero on winter nights.
A number of venue’s are also airconditioned and can get quite cool, plus you will need warmer clothes if you plan on camping inland during the dry where the temperature can drop quite a bit at night.
When the weather is warm all year round, keeping drinks cooler for longer is a necessity! Larger water bottles are also helpful for your increased water consumption.
Although watching the sunset is a much-loved activity by Territorians, it is also loved by mozzies and midgies. Keep them at bay with spray or try a Thermacell, which keeps them away at a radius around the cell.
When warm weather and sun is all year round, sunscreen is an essential to the Territory lifestyle.
Because the NT storms are terrific and sometimes very sudden, Territorians are always prepared with an umbrella as a protector.
Whether your camping, fishing, at the markets or out for dinner, these are essential for the weather and lifestyle in the NT.
Darwin is the gateway to Asia, with Bali just a few hours away!
Perfect for all year round and all regions, being outdoors is a big part of the Territory lifestyle, so get comfy!
In the wet season, it's best to keep all fresh produce, like bananas and stone fruit, in the fridge to save it going mouldy quickly. This also includes bread! The wet weather humidity can also affect your leather belongings, so keep your fans on and consider storing them close to DampRid, which helps absorb excess moisture.
