Additionally, as a finance major the encouragement for ongoing education, such as financial assistance for qualifications like Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), solidified my choice.

Graduate Trainee Tapu Saha has embraced life in the Top End for the past four years, transitioning from the Western Australia city of Perth. Now a full-time employee as a budget analyst after successful completion of a graduate programme in the Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet with the Northern Territory Government, he shares what prompted him to work not only in the Territory but also for the Northern Territory Public Sector (NTPS).

"As the biggest employer in the Territory, the NTPS stood out to me with its plethora of career development opportunities. Tapu became a graduate trainee for the Northern Territory Government department of Chief Minister and Cabinet in 2023 and since has explored various teams and workplace intricacies through the course.

When reflecting on his favourite aspect of living in Darwin, Tapu expresses admiration for the mesmerizing sunsets.

Tapu encountered minimal challenges during the relocation, making the decision to stay in the Northern Territory a testament to the welcoming community and the serene atmosphere.

"The friendliness of the people and the peaceful nature of the city were the deciding factors for me. Having sufficient time to relax at home after work enhances the overall quality of life in this unique part of the world."
